We are staying at the Foscue Creek Campground near Demopolis. Decided to explore the area and found this terrific spot for lunch. (They also serve dinner 4:30 to 9.) The decor is eclectic, the food is very good and the service is friendly. I was very impressed with the freshness of the vegetables. The okra actually came out of the owners garden. And, if you are hankering for or have never had southern green beans with bacon and new potatoes, this is your place. Also, the bread pudding was from the owner's mother's recipe and it was as good as any I have had at upscale 5 star restaurants. This is worth the stop if you are visiting the area or find yourself passing through. Be sure to walk around the square and check out Bluff Hall.

OMGoodness! This quaint place was awesome! No reason to be in a hurry! The food and atmoshere is delicious and breathtaking!
The wife and I had the shrimp scampi. It was delicious. The service was very good. The chef/owner came out and made sure all was good and later brought out desserts for us to pick from. He also spent the time to have conversation with us. We will definitely be back.

This place is adorable! The eccentric decor and eclectic music playlist made the atmosphere perfect. The staff/owner were so warm and welcoming. And the food! Fresh and delicious, highly recommend.
Stopped in for lunch. Service was fast and friendly. We had the Mushroom Burger and the catfish platter. Both were very good. Fries were few but huge and delicious. The Asian Slaw was my favorite, so yummy.
We ate there a couple of days ago for lunch; the food we ordered (club croissant) was great and arrived quickly. The girl who served us was very friendly as well. Would recommend!
This is such a hidden gem that everyone should experience. As a traveler, I've been to many different restaurants all over the US and SVH Bistro is top tier. Michelin star food for a fraction of the price. A rotating menu so you always have something new to try and I am not exaggerating when i say every single dish is phenomenal. I can taste the passion in every dish.The food is the most important aspect in my reviews but I want to note the atmosphere of the bistro. Its warm and inviting while somehow being refined and fun at the same time. The walk up made me think of a private speak easy, then you walk in and immediately feel comfortable. Mike ( owner / chef ) makes you feel welcome and I have a blast every time I go. If you on the fence about going, just go, you wont be disappointed.
Absolutely fabulous! Demopolis is lucky to have this fine restaurant. It’s an eclectic blend of funky old and new. Relaxing atmosphere with a fine dining aspect. Downtown with easy parking. Full wine and cocktail menu. Food was cooked to order and both entrees were as described and delicious. Brought home a slice of blueberry cheesecake. This place is a must visit if you’re in the area!!
